Silvio Vettorello, general manager of the famous Grand Hotel Tremezzo, extremely polite and considerate person whom I got to know during my photographic events. Many weddings of Lake Como take place in fact at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo and as a wedding photographer I usually take photo and video services in this wonderful location.
- Silvio, even if we are in the middle of 2020, do you want to remember this year for new stimuli that it will probably bring or erase it from the mind forever? Are you optimistic or pessimistic in character?
I think that in every moment of life, be it private or working, there is to learn. We will certainly remember this 2020 because it gave us the opportunity to think again about how we can change the tourist offer of our country and also of our beloved Lake Como. By nature I am optimistic and that is why I am already thinking with a smile, together with the ownership of the hotel, of course, for the coming seasons.
- How is GH Tremezzo being organized for the next summer season? Have you done any particular modernizations?
This year the Grand Hotel Tremezzo will reopen its doors and 100 windows on the lake on June 26 with a brand new TBeach, which has been expanded and completely redesigned, from the relaxation areas, to the lounge areas, sundecks … up to the kitchen … In addition to the TBeach, we have renovated some rooms and paid particular attention to important restoration works of the “noble” rooms (Regina and Contessa) of the Grand Hotel … otherwise everything is ready to welcome the most demanding Guests … we can’t wait!
- What are the next scheduled events?
This year we celebrate 110 years of Italian hospitality made on Lake Como, it was in fact on 10 July 1910 when the Grand Hotel Tremezzo opened its doors for the first time. We should have, like every year, celebrated with a big traveling party for the whole hotel but we decided to give us an even bigger gift … sure that all our friends and guests will understand and will already have free agendas for 2021 J We have in fact the entire budget that we would normally have used for the Birthday of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo was donated to two important medical assistance structures that work in the area. Being able to help is the best gift.
You host many tourists from all over the world but what never fails in your suitcase?
My favorite perfume … Bois d’Encens by Armani Privè … and a “Bobino” or the smaller plush representation of our mascot or the Bobo Bear that from the top of our secular park keeps and watches over the Hotel for the joy of all children and not only.
Do you have a dream in the drawer?
It would take a huge drawer to keep it inside … My dream is to be able to continue helping Lake Como. The Family of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo and all the people I have met to date on this beautiful journey have always made me feel at home, I was welcomed with open arms and not as a “stranger”. I fell in love with these people and this wonderful corner of paradise … being able to repay them with such affection is my biggest dream.

Silvio, anche se siamo a metà 2020, vuoi ricordare questo anno per nuovi stimoli che probabilmente porterà oppure cancellarlo dalla mente per sempre? Sei ottimista o pessimista di carattere?
Penso che in ogni momento della vita, sia essa privata oppure lavorativa, ci sia da imparare. Questo 2020 lo ricorderemo sicuramente perché ci ha dato la possibilità di pensare nuovamente a come poter cambiare l’offerta turistica del nostro Paese ed altresì del nostro amato Lago di Como. Di natura sono ottimista ed è per questo sto già pensando con sorriso, assieme alla proprietà dell’hotel naturalmente, alle prossime stagioni.
Come si sta organizzando il GH Tremezzo per la prossima stagione estiva? Avete fatto dei particolari ammodernamenti?
Quest’anno il Grand Hotel Tremezzo riaprirà le sue porte e 100 finestre sul lago il 26 Giugno con un nuovissimo TBeach, che è stato ampliato e completamente ridisegnato, dalle zone relax, a quelle lounge, prendisole…fino alla cucina… Oltre al TBeach, abbiamo rinnovato alcune camere e prestato particolare attenzione ad importanti lavori di restauro delle sale “nobiliari” (Regina e Contessa) del Grand Hotel…per il resto tutto è pronto per accogliere gli Ospiti più esigenti…non vediamo l’ora!
Quali sono i prossimi eventi in programma?
Quest’anno celebriamo 110 anni di Ospitalità Italiana made on Lake Como, era infatti il 10 Luglio 1910 quando il Grand Hotel Tremezzo apriva per la prima volta le sue porte. Avremmo dovuto, come ogni anno, celebrare con una grande festa itinerante per tutto l’albergo ma abbiamo deciso di farci un regalo ancora più grande…sicuri che tutti i nostri Amici ed Ospiti comprenderanno e terranno già le agende libere per il 2021 J Abbiamo infatti devoluto l’intero budget che solitamente avremmo usato per il Compleanno del Grand Hotel Tremezzo a due importanti strutture medico assistenziali che lavorano sul territorio. Poter aiutare è il regalo più bello.
Voi ospitate tantissimi turisti da tutto il mondo ma cosa non manca mai nella tua valigia?
Il mio profumo preferito … Bois d’Encens di Armani Privè…ed un “Bobino” ovvero la rappresentazione in peluche più piccola della nostra mascotte ovvero l’Orso Bobo che dalla sommità del nostro parco secolare custodisce e veglia sull’Hotel per la gioia di tutti i bimbi e non solo.
Hai un sogno nel cassetto?
Ci vorrebbe un cassetto enorme per farcelo stare dentro…Il mio sogno è quello di poter continuare ad aiutare il Lago di Como. La Famiglia del Grand Hotel Tremezzo e tutte le persone che ho incontrato fino ad oggi in questo bellissimo cammino mi hanno sempre fatto sentire a casa, sono stato accolto a braccia aperte e non come un “forestiero”. Mi sono innamorato di queste persone e di questo meraviglioso angolo di paradiso…poterle ripagare di tanto affetto è il mio sogno più grande.
