LakeComoFoodTours is a regularly authorized travel agency and tour operator and deals with the organization of incoming tourism proposals on Lake Como and in Lombardy in general.
Lake Como Food Tours offers experiential tours on Lake Como. Our tours are a careful mix of culture, scenic views and tastings of high quality local products, all experienced walking in delightful lakeside villages, pedaling along scenic cycle paths, walking on our mountains, participating in a cooking class or enjoying a boat cruise to admire the mountains from the lake.
Among our main tours we mention the Como Food Tour, the Lecco Food Tour and the Central Lake Tour which includes a tour of Varenna, tastings of typical local products, a cruise in the center of the lake, a guided visit to the wonderful Villa del Balbianello and a tour of Bellagio. We also offer a suggestive Bellagio Walking tour or alternatively an E-bike tour in Bellagio or Lecco, mountain walks, a Cooking class with a professional chef, cruise with aperitif or dinner and much much more. - Who is LakeComoFoodTours aimed at?
Our proposals for activities and tourist packages are mainly aimed at foreign tourists who want to discover our lake with a 5-star service.
In fact, we are very careful to maintain a high level of quality, using only regularly authorized guides and also selected by us based on the preparation and entertainment capacity, choosing service providers – from transport to tastings – impeccable from the point of view of quality and courtesy. We are very attentive to the organization and our procedures are carefully designed so as to minimize the possibility of error in order to guarantee the foreign travel agent or the end customer a high degree of reliability, which together with professionalism are essential ingredients.
- Not only Como and our lake, your destinations also point to various locations, which are the most requested?
On Lake Como our customers never fail to discover the lakefront with us, with our Central lake tour, and if they are in the area also Como with our Como food Tour. These are definitely the most requested tours, together with the cooking class a Mandello del Lario which is highly appreciated.
However, we try to push our customers to go one step further, discovering territories that they would hardly have touched without local support: I speak for example of Valtellina which is a best seller recently, rather than the region of lakes in general, from Lugano to Lake Maggiore. Bergamo and Franciacorta are also very popular.
All these locations allow us to offer Lake Como as a base from which to discover all of Lombardy, in this way the purpose is also to extend the time spent on our territory and in our facilities.
- Do you work a lot with foreigners but what do your guests love in particular about our kitchen? Don’t just tell me the Pasta!
Our guests appreciate being guided, in our case always by a professional guide or a sommelier, to discover food and traditions: because food is not only taste but also history and this is the added value we give. I must say that the olive oil, which we offer for tasting both in Como and in Perledo where it is produced, gives us a lot of satisfaction; also the wine from Brianza but above all from Valtellina are highly appreciated, always accompanied by a special location and a family tradition to tell.
- Do you have a particular recipe that you love very much or a dish you want to recommend?
When I try a restaurant on the lake, I always order lake appetizers: they are a litmus test of the quality and knowledge of the chef of our flagship product, lake fish, which is not easy to enhance and serve. Carpione is my passion both for the flavor and for the meaning it has in our tradition: we always make it taste to our guests, even if sometimes the strong flavor is not of their taste. But it is our taste so even a small amount must be tried!
- Which are your future projects?
This year we focused on promotion, taking advantage of the downtime to create new contacts abroad and strengthening our credibility with those who already knew us. We made a careful and never screamed communication, made of realism and moderation, which gave those who follow us the opportunity to know our point of view and the situation in Italy from a reliable and credible voice.
We are sure that this will pay us back in the future, in fact for 2021 we already have numerous bookings, the result of the postponement of many bookings of 2020 that have not been canceled: our customers are looking forward to being able to come and visit us and be taken by the hand to discover our lake.

Infatti siamo molto attenti a mantenere un elevato livello di qualità, utilizzando solo guide regolarmente autorizzate e anche da noi selezionate in base alla preparazione e alla capacità di intrattenimento, scegliendo fornitori di servizi – dai trasporti alle degustazioni – impeccabili dal punto di vista di qualità e cortesia. - Non solo Como e il nostro lago, le vostre destinazioni puntano anche in svariate località, quali sono le più richieste?
Sul Lago di Como i nostri clienti non mancano mai di scoprire il centrolago con noi, con il nostro Central lake tour, e se sono in zona anche Como con il nostro Como food Tour. Questi decisamente i tour più richiesti, insieme alla cooking class a Mandello del Lario che è apprezzatissima.
Cerchiamo però di spingere i nostri clienti ad andare un passo più un là, scoprendo territori che difficilmente avrebbero toccato senza un supporto locale: parlo ad esempio della Valtellina che è un best seller recentemente, piuttosto che la regione dei laghi in generale, da Lugano al lago Maggiore. Anche Bergamo e la Franciacorta sono molto apprezzate.
Tutta queste località ci permettono di proporre il Lago di Como come una base da cui partire a scoprire tutta la Lombardia, in questo modo lo scopo è anche quello di prolungare il tempo di permanenza sul nostro territorio e nelle nostre strutture.
Lavorate molto con gli stranieri ma cosa amano in particolare della nostra cucina i vostri ospiti? Non dirmi solo la Pasta!
I nostri ospiti apprezzano essere guidati, nel nostro caso sempre da una guida professionale o da un sommellier, alla scoperta del cibo e delle tradizioni: perché l’alimento non è solo gusto ma anche storia ed è questo il valore aggiunto che diamo. Devo dire che l’olio d’oliva, che offriamo in degustazione sia a Como che a Perledo dove è prodotto, ci dà molte soddisfazioni; anche il vino sia della Brianza ma soprattutto della Valtellina sono apprezzatissimi, sempre accompagnati da una location speciale e da una tradizione familiare da raccontare.
- Hai una ricetta particolare che ami molto o un piatto che desideri consigliare?
Quando provo un ristorante del lago ordino sempre gli antipasti di lago: sono una cartina al tornasole della qualità e della conoscenza da parte dello chef del nostro prodotto di punta, il pesce di lago appunto, che non è affatto facile da valorizzare e servire. Il carpione è la mia passione sia per il sapore sia per il significato che ha nella nostra tradizione: lo facciamo sempre assaggiare ai nostri ospiti, anche se alcune volte il sapore forte non è di loro gusto. Ma è un nostro sapore quindi anche una piccola quantità va provata!
Quali sono i vostri progetti futuri dopo questo 2020 un po’ “ballerino?”, avete già richieste per il 2021?
Quest’anno ci siamo concentrati sulla promozione, sfruttando il periodo di fermo per creare nuovi contatti all’estero e rafforzando la nostra credibilità presso chi già ci conosceva. Abbiamo fatto una comunicazione attenta e mai urlata, fatta di realismo e moderazione, che hanno dato a chi ci segue la possibilità di conoscere il nostro punto di vista e la situazione in Italia da una voce attendibile e credibile.
Siamo sicuri che questo ci ripagherà in futuro, infatti per il 2021 abbiamo già numerose prenotazioni, frutto del rinvio di molte prenotazioni del 2020 che non sono state cancellate: i nostri clienti non vedono l’ora di poterci venire a trovare e farsi prendere per mano alla scoperta del nostro Lago.
