- The Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio is one of the most popular historic hotels in the whole of Lario and is the only 5-star luxury hotel in Bellagio, famous all over the world, every year there are many tourists who stay there. What were your VIPs that you hosted?
We have been a hotel since 1873 – says Stefania Vitali, (in the picture) Events Manager at the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni – and there are many famous people who have chosen our structure for their stay. I mention only a few: John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Winston Churchill, Robert de Niro, Richard Branson, Isabelle Allende, Adriano Celentano, Adam Sandler and obviously George Clooney. There would be others but we have signed clauses confidentiality that does not allow us to reveal their names.
- Recently the prestigious Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards has been awarded to the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, what is it about?
It is one of the most important prizes in our sector awarded on the basis of the guest rating. In addition to being ranked first in Italy, we are also third in Europe and in the Top
50 worldwide. We also ranked in the Top Ten of another very important prize: the Condé Nast Traveler Choice Award.

- Not only hotels and fantastic stays but also weddings, which part of the world do your main couples come from?
Couples who want to celebrate their most special day with us come from all over the world, in particular from England, the United States, Canada, India, France and Switzerland. Of course we also have many Italians. One of our strengths, in addition to the location and the level of the service, is the possibility of celebrating the civil ceremony, which is not common in an accommodation facility.
- The TV and media production discourse is also interesting: Serbelloni often hosted television, film and photographic sets. Do you remember some particular sets and some curiosities?
In addition to hollywodian films such as Bobby Deerfield with Al Pacino, we recently hosted an important photo shooting for Saint Laurent and a special dedicated to Travel on Netflix Australia. We were also set of one of the most popular programs of the famous British broadcaster Channel 5.

- How did you organize for the 2020 season given the not very happy period because of Covid 19?
We are organizing for the reopening in full compliance with the safety regulations decreed by the Ministry of Health. We would like to say that many of the hygiene and cleaning standards recommended by the protocol have always been put into practice by us. We hope that soon Italians and foreigners will resume traveling and visiting our beautiful region.

- Quali sono stati i vostri VIP che avete ospitato?

Ce ne sarebbero altri ma abbiamo sottoscritto clausole di riservatezza che non ci permettono di rivelarne i nomi.
- Di recente è stato assegnato al Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni il prestigioso riconoscimento Travel+Leisure World’s Best Awards di che cosa si tratta?
Si tratta di uno dei premi più importanti nel nostro settore assegnato sulla base del voto degli ospiti. Oltre ad essere stati classificati primi in Italia siamo anche terzi in Europa e nella Top 50 mondiale. Ci siamo anche classificati nella Top Ten di un altro importantissimo premio: il Condé Nast Traveller Choice Award.

- Non solo hotel e fantastici soggiorni ma organizzate anche matrimoni, da che parte del mondo arrivano le vostre principali coppie?
Le coppie che desiderano festeggiare il loro giorno più speciale da noi arrivano da tutto il mondo, in particolare dall’Inghilterra, dagli Stati Uniti, dal Canada, dall’India, dalla Francia e dalla Svizzera. Abbiamo naturalmente anche molti italiani. Uno dei nostri punti di forza, oltre alla location ed al livello del servizio, è la possibilità di celebrare il rito civile, cosa non comune in una struttura ricettiva.
- Interessante anche il discorso tv e media production: spesso il Serbelloni ha ospitato set televisivi, cinematografici e fotografici. Ricordi qualche set particolare e qualche curiosità?

- Come vi siete organizzati per la stagione 2020 visto il periodo non molto felice per via di Covid 19?
Ci stiamo organizzando per la riapertura nel pieno rispetto delle norme di sicurezza decretate dal Ministero della Sanità. Ci teniamo a dire che molte delle norme di igiene e pulizia consigliate dal protocollo sono messe in pratica da noi da sempre. Ci auguriamo che presto italiani e stranieri riprendano a viaggiare e a visitare la nostra bella regione.
